On Facebook, a meeting is being organised for March 7 at 18:00, in the central SNP Square in Bratislava. The event, called Anti-Fascist Mobilisation – You Can Never Pass! shall show the reactions of citizens to the extreme right People’s Party-Our Slovakia (ĽSNS), chaired by Marian Kotleba (governor of the Banská Bystrica Region), passing into parliament with 14 chairs (receiving 8.04 percent of total votes).
“Our grandfathers who fought for our freedom must be turning in their graves,” organisers wrote on Facebook, adding that the country has found itself at a breaking point in history, struggling for the character of Slovak society.
Organisers write, as quoted by the SITA newswire, that they will march across Downtown Bratislava, without addresses, under flags with swastikas crossed and with the echo of anti-Fascist song Bella Ciao; with fists lifted in a clear message: Fascism will never win, we will not allow it. Hundreds of people have confirmed participation on Facebook, while thousands indicated they were interested.
