Preparations for Slovakia's presidential election on March 21 are proceeding smoothly, according to statements made by the Central Election Commission at what its chief Dusan Dugacek said could be its final meeting prior to the vote, the TASR newswire reported. Dugáček doesn't expect any disruptions ahead of the vote.
"The Slovak nation is civil, decent, and will turn out for the vote, cast its ballots, and the results will be out the next morning," he said.
The Statistics Office, according to its chief, Ludmila Benkovicova, has provided 500 computers for polling stations. “Around 1,000 people who will process the election results have undergone training...” she said. The vote-counters were tested on March 3 and more tests are scheduled for March 10 and 17. TASR
