Trnava-based carmaker PSA Peugeot-Citroen Slovakia is extending its afternoon shifts by one hour in February, and will probably do so in March too, in order to respond to increasing demand, company spokesman Peter Švec told the TASR newswire on Tuesday, February 1.
“This is a good signal for us, particularly at a time of crisis,” he said, adding that the output is bound for western Europe, especially Germany and Italy. Two models – the Peugeot 207 and the Citroen C3 Picasso – are currently manufactured at the plant. A total of 100,730 vehicles were produced there during the first half of 2010.
