Making excuses and blaming someone else is a Slovak national pastime (besides drinking, complaining about politics, and hockey). Communism taught people to not take responsibility for what goes on. People were taught to think as a collective, not as individuals. The situation with the Roma will improve over a generation just like Slovakia's other problems. It is unfair to expect miracles overnight.
