A wonderful description of a Slovak wedding. It's always great to hear of the traditional Slovak weddings.
My wife and I too had our traditional Slovak wedding here in the USA, as my parents and my wife's grandparents were all born in Slovakia.
We will have been married 42 years this coming May 18, and we remember the customs that we shared on our wedding day in the Slovak tradition. We also had the "Redova" dance at the end of the reception.
We were blessed with four children. Our three daughters are married and we have six grandchildren and another on the way in May again. All our daughters had the traditional Slovak wedding also, except for the traditional Slovak kroj wear.
This was and is a Slovak tradition that I shall always cherish for the rest of my life.
