The old and the uneducated have specific reasons to be leery of the EU. The uneducated need to learn languages... a difficult task.
The older folks have seen every optimistically anticipated change from fascism and communism to democracy end up in a disappointment. Their scepticism is therefore warranted.
I am more concerned about the young and educated. They are in a better position than the rest, but can they take advantage of it?
I hope most can eke out at least a solid middleclass living standard for themselves.
