DISCOUNT clothing retailier Kik was closed down after the tax authorities revealed its problematic practices regarding the cash registry. The authorities learned about one of the retail chain’s shops use of an illegal cash registry machine through the national receipt lottery, the Sme daily reported.
Some clients of the shop who wanted to register their receipts in the lottery could not do so as the system did not recognise the number on their receipts.
The authorities ordered the shop closed down.
Officers from the taxes and tolls section of the Financial Administration have performed 64 audits in the Kik retail chain, and found 23 cases in which the sellers were violating the law, Sme reported.
The Financial Administration received over 2,000 similar filings since the start of the lottery in September, compared to 300 in the previous half-year.
