The biggest low-cost airline in Europe, Ireland's Ryanair, has not yet decided where it will open its new airport bases in Europe, even though the decision was expected to be made by Christmas.
The company is still holding talks with several European airports, including the Bratislava airport, about establishing more bases. Tomasz Kulakowski, the company representative for central Europe, said in a meeting with the media that talks with the Bratislava airport are continuing; however, he did not want to comment on them.
Ryanair Director General Michael O'Leary said in November that the decision would depend on the Bratislava airport, and the conditions and prices offered.
The launch of new flights from Bratislava will depend on where the new bases are set up. If a base is established in Poland, it is unlikely there would be new flights from Bratislava. But if Ryanair decided to set up a base in Slovakia, Ryanair might increase the number of destinations it offers from Bratislava to 20 or more.
