Secret service wants more money

A REPORT presented to parliament on May 29 by secret service director Vladimír Mitro claims that the SIS needs more money "if Slovakia is not to become a haven for terrorists, mafia groups, extremists and money launderers.

"We are not directly threatened by terrorist attacks, but there are certain elements here of possible transit or logistics through Slovakia," Mitro said.

When asked if Slovak firms were engaged in illegal arms trading, Mitro answered: "unfortunately".
