Slovak Constitution has stood the test of time, president says

In a statement marking the 15th anniversary of the Slovak constitution, President Ivan Gašparovič said the constitution is a modern and functioning document.

The constitution, adopted on September 1, 1992, also includes the universally respected principles of self-determination, sovereignty and identity of the Slovak nation, and its indisputable right to its own independent state, Gašparovič said.
