SLOVAKIA became one of 60 countries to have recognised Libya’s National Transitional Council as the only legitimate government of that country, the TASR newswire reported.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is convinced that the National Transitional Council will guarantee the observance of laws, justice and human rights for all Libya’s citizens,” the ministry said in a written statement released on August 30, adding that such an approach in Libya will receive broad support from Slovakia’s government.
The ministry also expressed its condolences to the country in connection with the large number of civilian victims who have died during recent clashes.
