Smer MP to become new FNM head

The new management of the Economy Ministry has proposed Branislav Bačík, a former MP for the ruling Smer party, to become the new chair of the National Property Fund (FNM) privatisation agency, the SITA newswire reported.

The new management of the Economy Ministry has proposed Branislav Bačík, a former MP for the ruling Smer party, to become the new chair of the National Property Fund (FNM) privatisation agency, the SITA newswire reported.

Bačík was an MP from 2006 and 2010. In October 2010 he was elected chair of the board of trustees of the FNM.

He will replace Anna Bubeníková, who was forced to leave the post due to her connections with the Penta financial group and suspicions raised by the Gorilla file, a document containing purported transcripts of covertly recorded conversations from 2005-06 indicating high-level political corruption.
