Slovakia's 2007 state budget enjoyed a surplus of Sk400 million (€11.86 million) as of August 31, while the whole-year budget is estimated to have a deficit of Sk38.4 billion. Over the first eight months of 2007, state budget revenues reached Sk206.3 billion, while expenditures were Sk205.9 billion.
Based on actual data, the Finance Ministry issued preliminary estimates that the public finance deficit for all of 2007 would reach 2.7 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP), which is 0.2 percent lower than the approved figure. TASR
