One of the most important drugs-related cases in Slovak history ended after eleven years with prison sentences for the three men involved.
The Supreme Court rejected the appeal of Macedonian national Resat Sulejmani and his two Slovak accomplices against the sentences they received from the Bratislava Regional Court almost two years ago. Sulejmani was sentenced to ten years, Slavomír Múčka to nine and Jaroslav Andrejčák to eight years in prison. According to the Supreme Court, the sentences were appropriate regarding the level of danger that the offences committed posed to society. "It is trading in death," said the presiding judge. The Supreme Court's verdict cannot normally be appealed.
