According to Rusko, Thai companies could develop activities in the Slovak construction and textile industries, as well.

Thailand could offer Slovakia a gateway to southeast Asian markets of 200 million people, while Slovakia could secure access for Thailand to European Union markets with 470 million people.

Currently, trade with Slovakia constitutes less than 0.5 percent of Thai foreign trade, the Thai representative said.

Rusko is dissatisfied with the activities of the current Slovak commercial attaché in Thailand. He would prefer to see external Thai consultants helping Slovak firms entering the local market.
