In its April 1 night broadcast the public-service Slovak Television brought more than 300 minutes of live counting of sheep hosted by Andrej Bičan and his guests. They managed to count 2,750 sheep, RTVS boasted in a press release.
This idea was praised by The Guardian which included the live counting of (animated) sheep among the best of this year’s April 1 jokes.

“We surely did not want to score record numbers of viewers,” RTVS head Václav Mika said. “But we wanted to show through this exceptional step that we do have sense of humour; and April 1 is ideal date to prove it. I am already looking forward to next year.”
