ABOUT 800 international parcels were stolen when thieves broke into a sorting office in Bratislava on March 2, the SITA newswire reported.
During a night-time raid, the unidentified culprits gained entry to a building where the national postal operator, Slovenská Pošta, handles international shipments. They disabled the surveillance system and stole about 800 registered parcels. Slovenská Pošta spokesperson Andrea Pivarčiová told SITA that damages amounted to at least Sk1.3 million.
Slovenská Pošta is offering a reward of Sk100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the offenders.
