Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák is attending a meeting of foreign affairs ministers of countries of the Visegrad Group (V4)taking place on October 6, in Budapest, the SITA newswire was informed by the minister's spokesperson, Peter Stano. Their talks will focus mainly on intensifying and coordinating their common approach toward strengthening stability and democracy of the countries of the western Balkans and on supporting countries of this region in their effort to join the European Union and NATO.
The Foreign Affairs Ministers of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia will meet their partners from Belgium and Spain as well. They plan to discuss the main programme priorities of the EU presidencies of Belgium, Spain, Hungary and Poland in years 2010 and 2011.
They will also meet the representatives of the western Balkans region to talk about stabilisation of the region and Euro-Atlantic integration of their countries. Slovakia will take over the V4 presidency from Hungary in July 2010. SITA
