Béla Bugár is currently one of the most experienced parliamentarians in the Slovak parliament. He was born in 1958 in Bratislava and graduated from the Slovak University of Technology.
Who is Martin Glváč?
Martin Glváč was born in 1967 in Bratislava. He is a graduate of the law school of the Comenius University in Bratislava.
Who is Andrej Hrnčiar?
Andrej Hrnčiar was born in 1973 in Ružomberok and graduated from the University of Performing Arts in Bratislava as an actor.
New parliament inaugurated
All newly elected MPs have sworn an oath for the next term, they also held a minute of silence for the victims of Brussels attacks
New government officially set up
Chairs of Smer, SNS, Most-Híd and Sieť will officially form a new government on March 23.
Agriculture Minister: Gabriela Matečná (SNS nominee)
Gabriela Matečná will come to the top post in the agriculture department from the Slovak Property Fund (SPF), where she was nominated by Smer in 2012.
Education Minister: Peter Plavčan (SNS nominee)
Peter Plavčan has served as the general director of the ministry’s section for universities. In 2011 Transparency International Slovensko reported about his alleged involvement in a scandal surrounding the embezzlement of money from student loan funds.
Defence Minister: Peter Gajdoš (SNS nominee)
General Peter Gajdoš was born on April 9, 1959 in Nitra. He has been in the army since the 1970s, and graduated from military academies in Vyškov (1982), Moscow (1990), and also from the Royal Military Academy in London (2002).
