The stadium, which is the most modern one in Slovakia, was opened by the best Slovan players in history, including European champions, and champions of Czechoslovakia and Slovakia, the Sme daily reported.

“We’re at home here,” said one of the legends, Alexander Vencel Sr, when handing a symbolic key to a five-year-old boy of the latest generation of Slovak players. “I hope this will be the best and the biggest stadium in Slovakia.”

There were 22,500 fans altogether, which is the highest number of people visiting the matches of a Slovak league since Slovakia became independent, as the presenter told the visitors. However, Sme pointed out that this would be true if all the sectors were full. The tickets for the match were sold out, but two or three sectors were left empty for security reasons, according to the daily.

The fans were later treated to a unique laser show, followed by a football match between Slovan Bratislava and Spartak Trnava, which the former won 0:2.

What can be seen at the stadium?

Despite the grand opening, the stadium still needs to be completed. For example, the room for press conferences has not been finished yet and some players from Trnava complained about not having hot water, Sme wrote.

Moreover, there was also a problem with parking.

There are 27 buffets at the stadium, and many monitors enabling the fans to watch the match.
