AFC Bournemouth, an English football club competing in the Premier League, has forged an intriguing partnership with Eset, a prominent Slovak software company known for its cybersecurity solutions.
It is no coincidence, however. The company’s UK headquarters is based in the city.
“We’ve been approached by several Premier League clubs and representatives from other sports, but our collaboration with AFC Bournemouth is our only investment of this kind in the UK,” shared Lina Radwanski, Eset UK’s brand and partnership manager, with Hospodárske noviny daily.
This partnership has evolved since they first joined forces in 2019, with both parties consistently expanding their projects each season. Radwanski noted, “The football club’s proximity to our English headquarters creates a natural synergy, but it’s our shared values and commitment to the local community that truly matter.”
Beyond the partnership with Bournemouth, Eset also sponsors Borussia Dortmund in Germany and Sparta Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
Bournemouth recently made headlines by signing Brazilian forward Evanilson from FC Porto for €37 million, marking the club’s highest transfer fee ever.
Evanilson’s journey began in Slovakia, where he made his senior debut with FC ŠTK Šamorín in 2017, scoring three goals in six appearances. His ascent to elite football now sees him facing top-tier defenders weekly, solidifying a second Slovak connection at Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium, notes the Slovak daily.
