"Slovakia is a land of beautiful nature and the Low Tatras National Park is one of its most precious treasures,” reads the CNN story that recommends places to visit in Slovakia.

The Low Tatras have many spectacular peaks to visit but one of the most popular among tourists is Chopok, ideal for skiing in winter and perfect for hiking in summer.

Chopok, the third highest hill of the Low Tatras, is easily accessible from Demänovská valley, as well as from the southern Srdiečko ski resort.

For those who do not feel like hiking, there is a cable car going up to the hill, so the trip is perfect for families with children. The cable car operates from Biela Púť and Srdiečko.

Non-hikers would be able to walk around Chopok peak. There are chalets and a restaurant with a view of the surrounding countryside. Dress in warm clothes, Chopok is one of the windiest places in Slovakia.
