The High Tatras have a new attraction – The Poliankovo digital gallery is unique in central Europe.
Via a digital exposition, visitors can walk across the North Pole, raft a river and stand over the highest waterfall on the planet without travelling.

Gallery Poliankovo is open every day in Tatranská Polianka from 9:00 to 18:00.
The creators of this interesting digital project are Marián Bizub and Marián Aštáry. It took more than year to turn the idea into reality. Well-known Slovak document-maker Pavol Barabáš is the author of the ideological content of the exhibitions and he was in cooperation with the team from the beginning.
“I hope that thanks to the digital technology visitors will leave with a feeling inside that will motivate them to better explore our planet and our relationship towards it,” said Barabáš, who created nine exhibitions, as quoted by the SITA newswire.
“We use various forms of presentation, such as digital simulations, virtual reality, 3D projections, extended reality, photos and shadow play,” said Marián Aštáry, as quoted by SITA.
Unique insight to Domica's cave
As Marián Bizub added, “they wanted to bring art and nature closer to young people, who are usually not interested in galleries.”
Visitors to Poliankovo can also see one cave of the Domica Cavern that is otherwise closed to the public.
The presentations are located over an area of 600 square metres and offer 140 square metres of projection and 120 square metres of mirrors.
The creators chose the High Tatras as their location thanks to the popular project Tricklandia visited by 100,000 tourists per year.
“We believe that just like Tricklandia, this project will be interesting for both parents and children and bring fun and knowledge,” said Bizub for TASR.
