The Tatra Ice Cathedral, traditionally a symbol of the winter season in the region, is opened for the seventh time. It can be found at Hrebienok in the High Tatras.
The unique attraction was inspired by Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris. It was decided because of the fire that ruined this monument in spring 2019. The ice version was built by the main sculptor Adam Bakoš, who used 225 tons of ice.
The artwork is located at an altitude of 1,285 metres above sea level and every year it lures thousands of local and foreign tourists. The construction took about a month and it is a bit higher than last year – the highest point is 12 metres.
