Mednyánszky - The European artist of Slovakia and Hungary

PAINTER Ladislav Mednyánszky was born in 1852 to an aristocratic family in Beckov, at that time a part of upper Hungary under the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, today a town in the western corner of Slovakia. Danube race joins two capitals

WELCOMING the enlargement of the European Union through sport is the idea behind a new event starting May 15 on the section of the Danube between Bratislava and Vienna.Eight-person rowing shells from surrounding countries will compete at the Ferdinand Martinengo Memorial, named after the founder of the first rowing club in Bratislava.
