THE YOUNGEST mobile operator in Slovakia, Telefónica Slovakia, which provides services under the O2 brand, has won the public competition ‘Techbox Operator of the Year’. With 61 percent in a popular vote it won the contest for a third consecutive year, the company wrote in a press release in late February.
The operator received more than 3,100 out of a total of over 5,000 valid votes. Orange Slovensko was second with 925 votes and Slovak Telekom was third with 641.
“We thank all those who supported O2,” Martina Jamrichová, Telefónica Slovakia’s spokesperson, wrote in the press release. “A third victory in a row is the most beautiful present for us from mobile services users as we near the fifth anniversary of O2 in Slovakia.”
The Techbox public poll replaces the Mobile Operator of the Year competition. In it, those voting chose the best mobile operator based on their experiences, preferences and sympathies.
In 2011 the poll was extended with additional categories for notebooks, cameras, TV boxes, tablets and smartphones.
In total 29,790 people voted in all categories.
