Slovaks spend more online in 2011

A SLOVAK shopping online last year spent an average of €447, which is €34 more than in 2010, according to a 2,000-person survey conducted by the Heureka.sk website at the beginning of 2012.

A SLOVAK shopping online last year spent an average of €447, which is €34 more than in 2010, according to a 2,000-person survey conducted by the Heureka.sk website at the beginning of 2012.

“Higher spending in e-shops shows an increasing interest by Slovaks in online shopping, which in comparison to bricks-and-mortar shops offer a wider assortment of products as well as the comfort of one’s home and lower prices,” stated Kamil Demuth, project manager of Heureka.sk, in a company press release.

The most popular goods bought online during the course of 2011 were fashion items, followed by books, white goods and computers, TV sets and videos, cosmetics and perfumes as well as mobile phones and PDA devices.
