The photographic contest Choď a Foť (Go and take a photo) held by the Regional Organisation of Tourism (KOCR) Northeast Slovakia has announced its winners.
Out of the 431 photos submitted in the seventh year of the contest, the category attracting the highest number of entries was Nature. The winner of this category, Marián Kuric, also won the Grand Prix. The best photos will be exhibited in Prešov from December.
The task of the professional and amateur photographers was to capture the beauty and the interesting places of the Prešov region. The photos were divided into four categories.
In the Black&White category, the winner was Tibor Šarišský from Prešov who also took first place in the category Sport and sporting activities. In the category of Culture, traditions and history, Martin Bugár was awarded first place for his shot from Liptovská Teplička.
The prize of the chairman of the jury went to Lucia Petrušová who took a picture of frozen Štrbské Pleso. She said that it was taken during beautiful sunny weather when a haze was around the lake. She noted that she was in the right place at the right time.
