After several months, the Presidential Garden in the centre of Bratislava, also known as Grassalkovich Garden, is once again open. New trees, flowers and furniture have been added, and the Joy of Life Fountain is already flowing.
The garden underwent a complete restoration, which brought it even closer to its original French baroque form.

The main point was the restoration of greenery. "A lot has been done that cannot even be seen with the naked eye, but it's here underground," said the Mayor of the Staré Mesto borough, Matej Vagač, during the reopening.
The entire infrastructure underwent significant changes, irrigation networks replaced and new trees added. Staré Mesto planted 84 trees, with 46 replacing trees in bad condition and 38 newly planted. In addition, more than 20,000 bulbs and 16,000 biennials were planted. The garden is now open to the public.

More resembling baroque
Grassalkovich Garden was created in the middle of the 18th century, modelled after French baroque gardens. The ones behind the revitalisation followed the original projects because they wanted to give the garden its original character.
