Concerts pay homage to Slovak composer Miloš Ruppeldt
The Slovak Teachers' Choir will hold two concerts to celebrate the 120 birth anniversary of Miloš Ruppeldt (1881-1943). Organist, school director, conductor, piano instructor and founder of the Slovak Philharmonic, Ruppeldt was instrumental in shaping Slovak classical music after the founding of the first Czechoslovakia in 1918. The first concert begins at 19:00 October 20 at Chrám sv. Vincenta de Paul (Saint Vincent de Paul Cathedral) in Ružinov; the second at 9:30 October 21 at Veľký evanjelický kostol (Big Evangelical Church) on Panenská street. Admission free. Austrian Embassy lecture, Košice concert, exhibitions

Austrian drummer Maria Isabella Jenner and Slovak organist Marek Štrbák will perform at the International Modern Music festival in eastern Slovakia's Košice.
