Workshops and performances mark the Night of Museums and Galleries

An event that seems to be tailor-made for English speakers is a part of the annual Night of Museums and Galleries in the Slovak National Gallery (SNG) in Bratislava.

On the evening of May 20, the X-Event 2.6 (according to the protocols Le Goût) performance of the duo Annie Vigier & Franck Apertet (aka les gens d’Uterpan) will be offered to public.

The duo adapted their X-Event 2.6 project for the SNG. Before the night of Saturday May 20, a two-day workshop in English, led by Franck Apertet will prepare volunteers for the performance. The workshops start at 16:00 on May 18 and at 15:00 on May 19, in the Esterházy Palace of the SNG. The performers who are also choreographers, focus on the transmission and exchange of information and knowledge and create unexpected situations in various places, often art galleries or museums. Thus, they activate and “make more sensitive” a group of people sharing the room. The group works according to some “protocols”, i.e. pre-fabricated choreographic patterns or events that are repeated all over the world.

The workshop is a rehearsal for the public performance at the Night of Museums and Galleries which will take place on May 20 randomly between 17:00 – 00:00. Selected participants of the –free – workshops – will then become a direct part of the evening and will be even paid for their performance.
