It is hard to find silver linings amid the destruction of COVID-19 pandemic. Still, during the early spring days of lockdown, there was a lot of talk about the potential positives coming from the experience. People were grateful to spend more time with family, and even took up new hobbies (puzzle, books and board games sales spiked). Italians sang to one another from their balconies, and in many places there was a revived sense of community.

I don’t hear much about any of these things anymore, but it’s worth pointing out at least three major positives coming from this toughest of years:
Workers. The coronavirus forced us to rethink what we consider to be “essential” workers.
