DANISH furniture maker Divani will build a new operation in the south central Slovak town of Poltár that will produce luxurious leather sofas and chairs primarily for export to Scandinavia and the Benelux states.
Divani plans to start building the factory in the spring of next year. The operation should create about 240 jobs in the region, which is currently plagued with a 22.6 percent unemployment rate.
Divani wants to invest about Sk100 million (€2.4 million) at the start of the project, the Slovak daily Pravda wrote.
In the first stage of the project, about 120 jobs will be created; the rest will be opened later.
