In talks with OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria, Šramko stressed that during his ambassadorship, which was effective on February 1, he intends to focus on the protection of Slovakia's national interests and use his experience to contribute to meeting OECD's strategic plans.

Items on the agenda for 2010 include finding solutions to the economic crisis and searching for appropriate measures to counter its impact on general government finances, pension systems, and the revival of economic growth, said the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s press department.
