On Monday, February 26th, members of the National Criminal Agency (NAKA) made house searches in the districts of Galanta and Nitra in connection with the case of the editor-in-chief of the conspiracy magazine Zem a Vek (Earth and Time) Tibor E. R. He is being prosecuted for the incitement of hatred against the Jewish community. The police will provide further information if the case allows.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office launched the investigation based on the offence of defamation of nation, race and belief as well as inciting national, racial and ethnic hatred, for a story entitled “The wedge of Jews among Slavs” earlier in 2017, the SITA newswire reported.

The prosecutor claims that the culprit, who publishes under the name Tibor Eliot Rostás, used historical quotes to present readers with statements claiming that the Jewish community is the reason for the poor situation of society in the past and in the present and that it subverts contemporary society, said spokesperson for the Special Prosecutor’s Office, Jana Tökölyová.
The criminal complaint against Rostás was submitted by Pavel Sibyla, executive director of the Stop Corruption Foundation, in mid-May. He claims that the quotes used are not accompanied by any commentary. Conversely, the context of the story indicates that its author identifies with the statements, the Sme daily reported on its website.
