A 2014 audio file describes how former General Prosecutor Dobroslav Trnka allegedly attempted to blackmail Jaroslav Haščák, a Penta financial group co-owner, in relation to the 2011 political corruption-related Gorilla scandal.

Almost a year since the police retained the recording from 2014 between Trnka and Marian Kočner, they are preparing to hear the former general prosecutor. The General Prosecutor’s Office allowed him to speak to investigators last week, the police said.
“All requests by an investigator for the removal of Trnka’s confidentiality have been complied with, which shows the absolute cooperation of the General Prosecutor with police investigators,” Andrea Predajňová, a spokesperson for the General Prosecutor’s Office said, as quoted by the TASR newswire.
Kočner, accused of ordering journalist Ján Kuciak’s murder, is believed to have made the 2014 recording, which the Denník N daily has obtained. The audio file is now being studied by experts.
Confidentiality
The Gorilla Case has not been resolved properly because Trnka was not stripped of his confidentiality until recently.
“The National Criminal Agency (NAKA) have not been able to hear an important witness for confidentiality reasons until,” the police said, as quoted by TASR.
