Sky Media plans a plant in Slovakia

SKY Media Manufacturing SA, a SWISS producer of CDs and DVDs, plans to open a plant in the Slovak town Nové Mesto nad Váhom, in the Trenčín region, in October this year, the news wire TASR reported.

The construction of the Sk4 billion (€100 million) plant should begin in May and incorporate both existing facilities and greenfield development.

The plant should employ around 1,000 people and turn out 60 million CDs and DVDs per month.

The German company Steag will supply technology for the plant.

Sky Media Manufacturing SA, part of the Sky Tec Group SA, is the European leader in optical media production, with a capacity of 100 million CDs and 5 million DVDs per year.
