It is nine o’clock in the morning on June 8 and small groups of people wearing white T-shirts saying “I have a date with Our City today” are passing through the gate of the kindergarten on Strečnianska Street in Bratislava’s Petržalka borough. Their task today is clear: to paint the fence, plant some trees and clean the sandpit.

The people are mostly company employees who attend the biggest volunteering event in central Europe: Our City, organised by the Pontis Foundation for the 12th time.

He praises the fact that similar events unite people who are willing to help and contribute together towards a good cause.
