Alpine trails in the High Tatras have been closed for visitors since November 1. However, despite the seasonal closure, the region has much to offer.

Locals prepared an easy map that depicts the trails open the whole year, so they are suitable also for winter tourism.

The map is accessible in the information office and on websites. Tourism in winter requires more skills and proper equipment. It is also necessary to check the weather.

The seasonal closure of the chosen trails lasts until June 14.

“It is important that all protected animals are not disturbed by the presence of visitors. All the mountain chalets, except the one under Rysy Peak, are open, so tourists have enough options for choosing trips at lower altitudes,” said director of Administration of the Tatra National Park Pavol Majko, as quoted by the TASR newswire.
