Prime Minister Robert Fico headed the May 4 cabinet session for the first time after being released from hospital on May 1.
Fico underwent surgery at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NÚSCH) on April 22 during which doctors tried to divert a blockage of the coronary artery in two places, according to Denník N daily.

“Today I participated in the cabinet’s session and congratulated my colleagues for winning confidence in parliament and together we discussed important working issues,” Fico wrote on his Facebook page.
Cardiologist Peter Wohlfahrt of the institute of Clinic and Experimental Medicine in Prague warns that people normally stay at home for three months after such a surgery. Stress can slow rehabilitation.
“We are advising people to avoid great physical exertion and not to lift heavy loads in the first three months after surgery,” Wohlfahrt told the Sme. “This will allow fast healing of the sternum which limits patients who underwent bypass surgery the most.”
