Korea: 2008 Korean government scholarship

THE KOREAN government is offering two scholarships to Slovaks for an entire bachelor programme starting in the 2008/2009 academic year.

THE KOREAN government is offering two scholarships to Slovaks for an entire bachelor programme starting in the 2008/2009 academic year.

The objective of the scholarship is to promote international exchange and mutual friendship between the countries through the opportunity to conduct advanced studies at higher educational institutions in the Republic of Korea.

The programme takes five years in total - four years of undergraduate study and a year of language instruction prior to that. To be eligible, an applicant must be a citizen of the Slovak Republic who was born no earlier than March 1, 1983 and who has completed 12 years of schooling with good grades. Excellent knowledge of English is required.

The application form, completed in Slovak, must be supplemented by a signed CV, motivation letter and a photocopy of recommendation letters. A certified translation of the applicant's secondary school diploma and a certificate of their English skills must be submitted in English. The Korean application form, which includes two recommendation letters, a letter of motivation, a list of the desired study programme and a health certificate, can be submitted in English or Korean.

The deadline for applications is April 1, 2008. Applications should be sent to the Slovak Academic Information Agency (SAIA).
