Petržalka hides natural treasures

THE BRATISLAVA Regional Environmental Group (BROZ) introduced a new protected area, Chorvátske rameno, the Croatian Offshoot, on March 2. The natural reservation is located within the 150,000-inhabitant Bratislava district of Petržalka."Though it seems to be a paradox, in Petržalka, the third largest town in Slovakia, one can find rare natural values - literally inside the neighbourhood of the architecturally inhuman paneláky [apartment blocks]," said BROZ chairman Tomáš Kušík.

A pleasant surprise?

LEASING companies often offer services that match the needs of foreigners who, in turn, find leasing an ideal way to finance their stay in Slovakia. The Slovak Spectator has learned from a number of the main Slovak leasing companies that foreign nationals interested in their services do not have to meet any special requirements. However, Marta Krejcarová, public relations representative of the company ČSOB Leasing, said that there are some minor differences depending on where foreign clients pay taxes.
