NBS rate hike flags concern with inflation

THE CENTRAL bank continued its crusade to contain inflation by raising key interest rates by 50 basis points in a move that had been widely expected.As of June 1, the interest rate on two-week repo tenders was pegged at 4.0 percent, overnight refinancing operations at 5.0 percent, and overnight sterilisation operations at 3.0 percent.
