Lufthansa computer system paralyses flights across Europe

Problems with the computer system of German airline company Lufthansa paralyzed civil aviation in Europe. The problems mainly affected Austrian Airlines which became a part of Lufthansa in September. The system collapsed on Wednesday, September 30, at 04:00 and both airline companies then began to dispatch passengers manually. Parental assistance will increase next year to €256 per month

The state contribution paid to parents who opt to stay home to take care of a child or children and fulfill all criteria for state assistance provided during parental leave should go up from the current €164.22 to €256 per month per child younger than two years as of 2010. State assistance for Slovak mortgage debtors may start in 2010

The first debtors unable to repay their mortgages as a result of the economic crisis could make use of a newly introduced state assistance scheme beginning next year. The proposal for implementation of the state assistance scheme was approved by the Slovak cabinet at its session on September 30 which also stipulated that the Finance Ministry should finish the wording of the necessary legislative drafts by October 9, 2009, the SITA newswire wrote.
