Elaborating on the circumstances leading up to the accident, Dzurinda said that he'd gone on a 15-kilometre run around ’Železná Studienka’, part of Bratislava's forest park, that morning. He added that he then drove to Košice, which resulted in a mild sensation of fatigue. “Apparently, I missed the moment when I should have stopped having another drink,” Dzurinda said. Dzurinda served as Slovak prime minister for two successive terms - 1998-2002 and 2002-2006. He was also Slovakia's foreign affairs minister between 2010 and 2012.
