Government session held in Poprad presents tourism proposals

Slovak Economy Minister Ľubomír Jahnátek thinks the government session in Poprad on November 25 will be significant for future tourism in Slovakia. The ministers passed a proposal on arranging Tatra National Park (TANAP) into zones, proposed a new law on tourism and a so-called satellite account, which is a method of collecting information concerning tourism, the TASR newswire reported. Man with A(H1N1) flu virus dies in Prievidza hospital

A 32-year-old man with A(H1N1) flu virus died in Prievidza hospital in Trenčín region on November 24, Slovakia's chief hygienist Ivan Rovný told the TASR newswire the following day, adding that the man's health was already compromised by a kidney disorder and the problems were compounded by pneumonia and breathing disorders. Number of Slovaks receiving unemployment benefits falls further in October

The number of persons eligible for unemployment benefits dropped in October for the second straight month. Sociálna Poisťovňa, Slovakia’s social security provider, paid out unemployment assistance to over 56,300 people in October, which is a drop of 5,400 against the previous month, the SITA newswire wrote.
