Visegrad Four and western Balkan foreign ministers to meet in Prague
Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda is scheduled to meet his Czech counterpart Karel Schwarzenberg in Prague on November 4 along with the two other foreign ministers of the Visegrad Four and foreign ministers from western Balkan countries, according to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry's communications department. Among the points for discussion at the meeting are the current situation in the EU and developing a common stance regarding the EU's enlargement plans, the TASR newswire wrote.
State budget deficit in October is one-third lower than last year
Slovakia’s state budget deficit rose from €2.159 billion in September to €2.341 billion in October, the Finance Ministry announced on November 2 while stressing that in annual terms the deficit was 30.6 percent lower than in October 2010 when it had reached €3.373 billion, the TASR newswire reported. A deficit of €3.8 billion is projected for all of 2011 compared to the €4.4-billion deficit recorded in 2010.
Mikuláš Dzurinda confirmed as SDKÚ election leader
